Layer by Layer Ground Beef Casserole

Nothing is better than casserole recipes that are layered and layered with delicious ingredients. Our Layer by Layer Ground Beef Casserole is inspired by Mexican cuisine and is loaded with tortillas, ground beef, pinto beans and Cheddar cheese. Creamy and delicious, it is then tossed in the oven so everything bakes together to make a mouthwatering dish. Cheesy, creamy and full of flavor, it will become a family favorite.

Ingredients

  • 10 ounces package large flour tortillas
  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 1 can pinto beans
  • 8 ounces shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
     
  2. Lightly grease 9x13x4 inch pan.
     
  3. Brown ground beef, salt, pepper and onions in skillet and drain.
     
  4. In separate bowl, mix soups together.
     
  5. Layer in order: 5 torn tortillas, beans, meat mixture, cheese; 5 torn tortillas, soup mixture.
     
  6. Cover with foil and bake at 350 degrees F for 45-60 minutes.
