Ingredients
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 stick butter or margarine
- 1 egg
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 3/4 cup sifted self-rising flour
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup chopped, pitted dates
- 1 cup chopped candied cherries
- 1 cup flaked coconut
- 1 cup chopped pecans
Instructions
- Heat oven to 350 degrees F.
- Cream together sugar and butter.
- Add egg and vanilla. Beat until light and fluffy.
- Add flour, spices and buttermilk; mix thoroughly.
- Stir in fruit and pecans.
- Drop by teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet.
- Bake for 12 to 15 minutes. Makes 5 to 6 dozen cookies.
