Chocolate Spritz
Nothing says Christmas cookies like traditional Spritz. Chocolate Spritz are a simple upgrade because chocolate is added! Follow this easy cookie recipe and serve up the holiday favorite (with a bit of a twist).
Ingredients
- 2 squares (1 oz. each) unsweetened chocolate, melted
- 1 cup sweet butter, softened
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Beat butter, sugar, egg, vanilla and salt until light and fluffy.
- Blend in melted chocolate. Add flour and mix well.
- Load press with dough and press cookies out 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheets.
- Bake 5 - 7 minutes or just until very slightly browned around eggs.
- Remove to wire racks to cool. If desired, dust with confectioners sugar. Makes about 5 dozen.
