Wine Drop Cookies
Wine Drop cookies are small dessert bites perfect for a tasty treat after dinner. It's an easy cookie recipe that you can also turn to during the holiday season. Enjoy these wonderful treats.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup molasses
- 1/2 cup shortening (scant)
- 2 soda
- 1 egg
- 1 cup currants
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup sour milk
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon cloves
Instructions
- Cream the shortening and sugar, beat in the egg, beat in the molasses, beat in the sour milk, stir together all the dry ingredients and the currants, and mix the dry into the wet.
- Drop by teaspoons on ungreased sheets and bake at 350 degrees F.
- No time was given in the recipe I clipped, and I usually don't time things anyway but just go "by looks".
- They're fairly small cookies, so I start checking at probably 8 minutes.
- They're done when set and with a little bit of slightly darker color around the edges.
