Walnut Crescents

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 2 teaspoons water
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 2 cups flour
- 1/2 cup black walnuts, chopped very fine
- powdered sugar for rolling in
Instructions
- Cream butter, shortening and sugar well. mix in water and vanilla then the flour and nuts.
- Chill dough 3 to 4 hours. Form dough into long rolls about 1/2 inch across.
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
- Cut dough into 3 inch lengths. Shape into a crescent.
- Bake on a ungreased cookie sheet 325 degrees F for 15 minutes. Do not let them brown.
- Cool slightly and turn in powdered sugar.
