To all those confused about how much spaghetti to use: It seems that the last steps tells you to add spaghetti as desired. You would make as much spaghetti as you think would feed your family. Hope that helps! -Editors of RecipeLion

And it doesn't say how much spaghetti to use. I would think since it is spaghetti you are making that you would use a mix packet that is for spaghetti sauce. And canned crushed tomatoes if you don't have tomato sauce that is not ketchup. Frankly, if I still have to brown meat, saute onion and celery I may as well make on stove and simmer a bit with seasonings all added in to meat and sauce mixture.

In the UK we call ketchup - tomato sauce. I assume that a can of plum tomatoes would be better? It must have some liquid as the casserole meat mix is added as a powder.

Hello Member 1923785 and others, So sorry for the late response on this. I know this recipe is vague, sometimes reader submitted recipes are found to be that way and we rely on others and each other to decipher them. Here's what I found. You can buy meat sauce mix at the store, one brand is: Knorr Fix Schmorbraten / Braised Meat -Sauce Mix It comes in a packed. I hope that helps everyone. Thanks!

Why is there no answer to the question left over six months ago regarding "meat mix"? I would like to know what it is as well.

What "meat sauce mix???" It could make a big difference which one a person buys and uses in this recipe. Would this be a packaged meat sauce mix like gravy mix, for example, that one finds in the supermarket? Which brand?
