Chinese Cole Slaw
Do you love cole slaw, but wish you could do something with it to add some new flavor? You're in luck because we have just the cole slaw for you! Chinese cole slaw is not your average cole slaw. With ramen noodles, two types of seeds and soy sauce, it is a new take on a classic favorite dish.
Ingredients
- 2 packages ramen noodles (save seasoning packet for soups or stews)
- 1 cup slivered almonds
- 1/2 cup sunflower seeds
- 1/4 cup sesame seeds
- 1/2 cup butter or margarine
- 1/2 cup oil
- 1/4 cup vinegar
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 medium head cabbage
Instructions
- Crumble ramen noodles and place in a skillet with almonds, sunflower seeds, sesame seeds and butter and stir mixture until toasted and golden brown.
- Dump on several layers of paper towels to drain and cool.
- Mix oil, vinegar, sugar and soy sauce; heat slightly in microwave only until sugar dissolves.
- Cool and shred one medium head of cabbage and toss with toasted seeds and dressing. Serve immediately.
