Nutty Apple Pie

Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 2 tablespoons whole wheat flour
- 1 1/2 sticks butter
- 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
- 5 tablespoons tbs ice water
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 10 apples
- 1/2 lemon
- 1 teaspoon corriander
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon cloves
- 1/2 cup nuts (almonds, walnuts, filberts or pecans)
- 1/2 cup dried fruit (raisins, apricots, mangoes or figs)
Instructions
- Mix butter, sea salt, water and flour together until dough forms an elastic ball.
- Peel and dice 10 medium apples and pour the juice of 1/2 a lemon over them to prevent browning.
- Add honey, coriander, cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg.
- Add chopped nuts small cut dried fruit.
- Add finely sifted whole wheat flour and blend all the ingredients together.
- Take half the pie crust dough and roll a bottom for your pie dish, overlapping the edges slightly.
- Fill in the apple mixture and cover with the rolled out remaining dough.
- Trim and seal the edges with a fork, cut a vent into the center and bake at 380 degrees F for 30-45 minutes.
