Party Meatballs
Make these ahead of time and serve them to friends and family at your next party. The recipe is quick and easy and the sweet sauce gives it the meatballs the extra kick they need.
Ingredients
- 2 pounds hamburger
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1/2 cup rolled oats
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon dried parsley
- Salt and pepper
- 2 10 ounce bottles Heinz 57 Sauce
- 32 ounces apricot preserves
- 1 cup slivered almonds
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1 teaspoon balsamic vinegar
Instructions
Combine all sauce ingredients in a sauce pan and gently warm through, stirring often. Combine the ingredients for the meatballs in large mixing bowl; after wetting hands in cold water, form balls from mixture about one inch in diameter. You can brown meatballs in a skillet, draining them well before adding the sauce or line two cookie sheets with brown paper bags and bake at 350 degrees for about 20 to 30 minutes, the paper will absorb the grease, and meatballs won't be crusty. Combine meatballs and sauce in a large Ziploc bag and turn often to coat; I usually let mine sit in the refrigerator for at least overnight.

Very important to refrigerate overnight to blend flavors. I added 1t. onion powder in place of parsley. It could easily have been doubled. Warmed up in slow oven for 25 min.
