We slice the strawberries and instead of "serving" (dollops) of whipped cream, we top the whole pie with the whipped cream. That's the way I was taught to make it.

P.S. I also put the strawberries in the pie shell and pour the gelatin mixture over the strawberries instead of the way this recipe does it. The last time I made it, I was lazy and bought a strawberry glaze already made up. It was in the produce section of my store above the strawberries. Didn't have to add anything to it. It's normally available in spring when the strawberries are available.

I am a beginning cook, teaching myself and had no trouble with this recipe - except I forgot the lemon juice. Maybe if a person doesn't like the instructions they could state WHY. I love and use your site a lot and haven't yet run into 'poorly written instructions'. Just sayin...

I love it. I have one in my fridge right now. Same recipe. I don't know how anyone could mess this up.

I ahve made this pie many times and it always turns out very well. I don't understand why others are having a problem. Maybe not allowing the glaze to cook long enough before pouring over the strawberries? This pie also needs to set up in the refrigerator for several hours before slicing it. I also use a slightly sweetened pie crust with this recipe.

I just made this for my daughter, it looks beautiful, in the recipe, you did not say to slice the berries. Maybe that is why people are having an issue. :o)

The taste is Great, but its not pie-its SOUP. It did overflow. I poured it out. Used only 1/2 the filling and half coolwhip, and put in freezer. Much better!!

It was too much it almost overflow the pie pan and it already overflowed the pie crust I would recommend making it into 2 different pie pans, I got rid of the juice in the pie crust and kept the strawberries and I'm planning on freezing it for about an hour and I'm freezing the juice so my brother can have it, but the pie tastes good.
