Simple Green Bean Casserole
No Thanksgiving feast is complete without the green beans! This Simple Green Bean Casserole recipe is a classic, creamy dish that perfectly compliments the Holiday Stuffed Turkey (see notes section for recipe). Toasted almonds top off this side for added crunch.

Ingredients
- 1 pound fresh green beans, washed, ends trimmed
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 2 green onions, chopped the whole length
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- pinch of black pepper
- 1/2 cup half-and-half
- 1/4 cup sliced almonds, toasted until golden (for garnish)
Instructions
- In large saucepan, boil 2 quarts of water. Add green beans and cook, uncovered, 4-5 minutes or until tender.
- Heat butter in a skillet. Add garlic and green onion. Cook for 1-2 minutes.
- Add salt, pepper, and cream. Simmer for 7 minutes to reduce cream slightly.
- Toss with green beans and top with toasted sliced almonds.
