Turkey Breast with Plum Sauce
Ingredients
- 4 pounds boneless whole turkey breast
- 1/2 teaspoon lemon pepper
- 1/4 cup plum or raspberry jam
- 1 cup sliced plums
- 1/4 cup plum or raspberry jam
- 1 tablespoon white vinegar
Instructions
Brush grill rack with vegetable oil. Heat coals or gas grill for direct heat. Sprinkle turkey with lemon pepper. Insert barbecue meat thermometer in center of turkey. Cover and grill turkey, skin side down, 4 to 6 inches from MEDIUM heat 30 minutes; turn. Cover and grill 40 to 50 minutes longer, brushing occasionally with plum jam during the last 10 minutes, until thermometer reads 170F and juice of turkey is no longer pink when center is cut. Discard any remaining jam. While turkey is grilling, prepare Plum Sauce. Remove turkey from grill. Cover with aluminum foil tent and let stand 10 minutes before carving. Serve turkey with sauce. PLUM SAUCE Mix all ingredients in 1-quart saucepan. Cook over medium heat about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until plums are tender. About 1 1/4 cups.
