Classic Dinner Rolls
Fill up on these fantastic homemade dinner rolls at your next meal. Classic Dinner Rolls are a great appetizer option that the whole family will love.
Ingredients
- 18 ounces flour
- 2 1/4 teaspoons yeast
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
- 4 ounces butter
- 3 egg yolks
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
- Whisk together dry ingredients.
- Put in bowl of stand mixer with dough hook.
- Heat milk and butter to 115 degrees F to 125 degrees F.
- Dump the warm milk-butter mixture and the egg yolks into the flour and mix on medium low to combine.
- Increase speed to medium high and beat until the dough is smooth and shiny, about 8 minutes.
- Remove dough from bowl.
- Shape into a ball and return it to the bowl.
- Lightly grease the sides of the bowl and cover the top with plastic.
- Let rise in warm place until double in size, about 45 minutes.
- Light grease a 9x13 baking dish.
- Turn the dough onto a clean work surface. The dough is soft but not sticky and press to deflate.
- Using a pastry scraper, divide the dough into 16 equal pieces, about 2 ounces each.
- Form rolls, cover and let rise until about double, about 30 minutes.
- Bake about 20 minutes until golden.
