Honey Barbecue Wings
Get your fingers sticky with this wonderful sweet chicken wing recipe. Coated and brushed with a homemade sauce, these deep fried wings will become your favorite. Get the wet naps ready, you're going to need 'em.
Ingredients
- 1 1/4 cup ketchup
- 1/3 cup vinegar
- 1/4 cup molasses
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/2 teaspoon liquid smoke
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon chili powder
- vegetable oil for frying
- 20 chicken wings
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 cup milk
- 2 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 teaspoon pepper
Instructions
- Combine ketchup, vinegar, molasses, honey, liquid smoke, salt, onion powder and chili powder in a saucepan. Whisk until combined.
- Cook over medium heat until boiling. Reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 15 to 20 minutes.
- Heat 6 to 8 cups of oil in a deep fryer set to 350 degrees F.
- Whisk together egg and milk.
- In another bowl, combine flour, salt, pepper. When oil is hot, dip each wing in flour mixture, then into milk and egg mixture, and again into the flour.
- Fry the wings in the oil for 9-12 minutes or until light, golden brown.
- Drain on paper towels or a rack. Brush the surface of each wing with a coating of sauce. Serve.
