Ingredients
- 3/4 cup butter or margarine
- 3/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 1/2 cup flour
- 3 tablespoon fresh lemon juice (1/2 lemon)
- rind of 1 lemon, grated
- 3 eggs
- 1 1/2 cup sugar
- 3 tablespoon flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- chopped nuts, optional

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Mix butter, sugar and flour until crumbly (using your fingers works best).

Pat mixture into a 9 x 13" pan. Bake for 12 minutes.

Mix together lemon juice, rind, eggs, sugar, flour, baking powder and nuts (if desired). Pour over baked and cooled crust and bake for 15-20 minutes.
- Sift powdered sugar over top. Cut into pieces while still somewhat warm.
