Mincemeat Brownies

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all purpose flour, sifted
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 cup prepared mincemeat, drained
  • 1/2 cup walnuts, coarsely chopped
  • confectioners' sugar

Instructions

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Lightly grease an 8x8x2-inch pan. Mix all ingredients, except mincemeat and nuts, well. Then fold in the mincemeat and nuts. Spread evenly into pan. Bake 25-30 minutes or until surface springs back when gently pressed with fingertip. Cool slightly. Cut into squares while still warm. Sprinkle lightly with confectioners' sugar
