Root Beer Baked Beans

Ingredients

  • 2 strips bacon, diced
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 jars (18 ounces each) baked beans
  • 1/2 cup root beer
  • 1/4 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
  • Several drops hot pepper sauce
  • Freshly ground pepper to taste

Instructions

Yield: 6 to 8 servings. Cook bacon with onion in a medium saucepan until bacon is brown and crisp. Add remaining ingredients. Heat to a boil; reduce heat and simmer, stirring often, until slightly thickened, 20 minutes.
