Hand Held Frito Pies
Hand Held Frito Pies are going to become one of your family's favorite weeknight dinners! This easy ground beef recipe is basically a deconstructed taco made portable by using the bag of Fritos the recipe calls for as the serving vessel. What's even better than that? This recipe will use NO dishes, meaning very little clean up for you! Just prepare all your ingredients ahead of time and you and your family can have a mini taco bar in the kitchen with all the fixings. This is the best taco Tuesday idea we've ever seen!
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 cup diced onion
- 1 ounce taco seasoning packet
- 6 snack-sized bags of Fritos or Doritos
- Suggested Toppings
- 1 (8-ounce) can Kidney beans or Pinto beans
- shredded iceberg lettuce
- 1 tomato, diced
- 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese

In a large saucepan over medium heat, brown beef. Add the onion to the meat and sauté a 3-5 minutes, until soft. Add the taco seasoning and stir to continue cooking.

Remove from heat, stir in beans, and set aside.

Open the chip bag and add meat/bean mixture, lettuce, tomato and cheese. Close bag with hands and shake to combine.
