Sweet and Sour Meat Balls

Ingredients

  • 13 1/2 ounce can pineapple tidbits, juice reserved
  • 1/3 cup vinegar
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 3 Tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 2 pound ground beef

Instructions

Prepare the meat balls by forming into 1 inch balls. Cook them in a large skillet; drain the grease. Keep them warm while you prepare the sweet and sour sauce. In medium bowl, mix together the corn starch and brown sugar. Set aside. In a large sauce pan or Dutch oven add the pineapple juice, vinegar and soy sauce. Cook, stirring constantly over medium heat. Add brown sugar and cornstarch mixture. Keep stirring until mixture thickens and boils. Boil and stir 1 minute longer. Add pineapple, green pepper and the meat balls. Simmer for 15-20 minutes.
