Simple Chicken Fried Steak

Ingredients
- 6 chopped steaks
- 4 tablespoon flour
- salt to taste
- pepper to taste
- oil or melted Crisco
- 1 1/2 to 2 cups milk
Instructions
- Dredge the steaks in 3 tablespoons of flour and fry in 1/4" of oil.
- Salt & pepper them while they are in the pan.
- Drain the steaks on paper towels and drain the pan of all but 1-2 tablespoons of oil.
- There should be plenty of crunchies leftover from frying the steaks. Keep these. They're what make the gravy tasty.
- Add the flour (1 large tablespoon) to make a kind of roux.
- Add the milk gradually until the gravy is the consistency desired.
- Add salt & pepper if you feel it's needed.
