French Toast with a Twist
Ingredients
- 3 eggs, beaten
- 6 pieces raisin bread
- 1 teasp cinnamon
- 1/2 to 1 teasp vanilla extract (depending on personal taste)
- (1 teasp sugar - optional)
- butter or margarine
Instructions
Add cinnamon and vanilla extract to beaten eggs in bowl large enough to lay a slice of bread in it. (Add sugar to mixture for sweeter toast.) Melt butter or margarine in skillet over medium-high heat. COAT a slice of raisin bread with egg mixture by laying in egg mixture and flipping until both sides are well coated...DO NOT SOAK. Place slice of bread in skillet and cook until browned on both sides. (I like to make sure the egg is completely cooked.) My kids ate this with their hands, sans syrup. But, I'm sure it would be wonderful served with syrup.
