Easy Funeral Poke Cake

An old custom, funeral cakes were often meant to provide mourners with tidbits and also serve as a token of remembrance. Our Easy Funeral Poke Cake is inspired by these old cake recipes and provides people with a delicious cake that will soon become your favorite. Rich and chocolatey, the cake is topped with Cool Whip and little bits of toffee candy to make each bite absolutely incredible. Ingredients

  • 1 German chocolate cake mix
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 jar butterscotch topping or caramel topping
  • 12 ounce Cool Whip
  • 4 small Heath candy bars, crushed into bits

Instructions

  1. Bake cake according to package directions on box. Let cool for 20 minutes.
     
  2. Mix butterschotch topping with condensed milke.
     
  3. Poke holes in cake with end of wooden spoon. Pour the mixture in holes and over cake. Let cool.
     
  4. Ice with Cool Whip and top with crushed candy bars.
