Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup butter
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 cup molasses
  • 3 1/4 cups sifted flour
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup hot water
  • 1 tablespoon soda
  • 3 beaten eggs

Instructions

Cream butter and sugar. Add molasses and blend. Sift together flour, salt and spices. Combine soda and hot water. Add dry ingredients alternately with hot water mixture. Add beaten eggs. Place in greased and floured pan 8 x 12 and bake at 350 degrees F for 25 - 30 minutes.
