Sour Cream Pound Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 cup soft butter
  • 2 3/4 cup sugar
  • 6 eggs
  • 3 cup cake flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1 cup dairy sour cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Instructions

Cream butter and sugar until light. Add eggs, one at a time, beating thoroughly after each. Sift dry ingredients and add alternately with sour cream to first mixture, beating until smooth. Add flavoring. Pour into 9 inch tube pan. Bake at 350F 1 hour and 20 minutes. or until done. Let stand on rack about 5 minutes. Turn out, cool and cover with icing, letting it run down sides. (thin confectioner's icing). Garnish with cherries.
