Almond Crunch Candy
Make up a batch of this sweet treat for Christmas gifts, holiday parties or just because. You can mix it up and try different kinds of sliced nuts, and even add candy or peppermint pieces.
Ingredients
- Margarine or butter for the pan
- 1/3 cup margarine or butter
- 1/4 cup honey
- 3/4 cup blanched almonds, slivered
Instructions
- Grease an 8 x 8 inch baking pan with margarine or butter. Melt the margarine in a small heavy skillet over medium heat.
- Stir in the honey and the almonds. Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently, until the mixture turns a golden brown (approximately 5 minutes).
- Working quickly, spread the mixture into the prepared pan and cut into squares with a greased sharp knife. Store covered in the refrigerator.
