Hard Cinnamon Candy
Ingredients
- 2 cup granulated sugar
- 2/3 cup white corn syrup
- 1 cup water
- food color - red for cinnamon
- cinnamon oil
Instructions
Combine sugar, syrup and water in a 2 quart saucepan. Cook on medium/high heat until it reaches 300: on a candy thermometer. This will take about 30 minutes. Watch carefully that the mixture doesn't burn, you will have to start over. When it reaches 300: remove from heat immediately and add 1 bottle of the flavored oil and food color. Stir well. When using cinnamon oil, be careful, the fumes will be strong, so open a window if you can. Pour the mixture onto a cookie sheet with sides and let cool. Break into pieces. You can coat the candy with powdered sugar and shake off the excess if you like. Store in a cool, dry covered container. Jan
