    Molasses Taffy

    Ingredients

    • 1 cup molasses
    • 3/4 cup sugar
    • 2 tsps vinegar
    • 1 Tbsp baking soda
    • 1/8 tsp salt

    Instructions

    Boil molasses, sugar, and vinegar to a hard boil stage. About 265F - 270F. Remove from heat. Add baking soda, and salt. Stir only to blend. Pour mixture onto a well butter pan. Smooth with spoon. Cool. After this is cooled, take the candy and literally stretch it.

    you need to butter your hands to keep candy from sticking to you You must twist as you pull grandmother's was white when she stopped pulling,made a taffy rope,snipped into short pieces then rolled each piece in powderd sugar
