Old Time Fudge

Cooking MethodNo Bake

Ingredients

  • 3 cup sugar
  • 1 cup whipping cream
  • 3 ounce chocolate, unsweetened
  • dash of salt
  • 2 teaspoon corn syrup
  • 3 tablespoon butter
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3/4 cup pecans

Instructions

  1. Butter sides of a 3-quart pan.
     
  2. Combine sugar, cream, chocolate, salt and corn syrup in a pot. Heat over medium heat. Stir constantly until the sugar dissolves, the chocolate melts and mix comes to boiling.
     
  3. Cook to soft-ball stage (about 234 degrees F). Stir only if necessary. Immediately remove from the heat.
     
  4. Add the butter and cool to lukewarm (110 degrees F) without stirring.
     
  5. Add vanilla and pecans and beat until thick. Spread in a buttered shallow pan. Allow to cool completely before cutting.
