Tips for Making Hashbrown Casserole Recipes
The next time you make one of these cozy potato casseroles, refer to these tips and you'll get great results.
1. How to make it the night before
- Stir all of the ingredients together in a bowl, cover it, and keep it in the refrigerator. Just before you’re ready to bake it, grease your baking dish, and transfer the potato mixture into the pan and bake in the oven according to the recipe.
- With this method, you won’t need to wait for the pan to come close to room temperature before baking. This will also eliminate any chance of your pan breaking, which can sometimes happen if the pan goes from extreme cold to extreme heat too quickly.
2. How to make the best Cracker Barrel copycat recipe
- Grate your own cheese from the block, rather than using store-bought shredded cheese. When you shred your own cheese, it doesn’t contain the same additives so it melts a bit differently.
- Don’t forget to include salt and pepper! When a recipe has balanced seasonings, all of the other flavors are enhanced as well.
- When mixing the ingredients, make sure that the hash browns are still frozen and not thawed.
- When transferring the mixture to the baking dish, take care not to pack it into the pan. This will maintain that signature texture.
