Easy Turkey Tetrazzini Casserole

A classic dish that has been a favorite for ages, Easy Turkey Tetrazzini Casserole is a creamy delight that the family will love. Packed with chunks of mushrooms and turkey, nestled in a rich and creamy sauce, the smell of it cooking will tempt you. Topped with bread crumbs to give it a bit of a crunch, it may become one of your favorite casserole recipes.

Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoon butter
  • 4 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 1/2 small onion, chopped
  • 2 1/2 tablespoon flour
  • 1 3/4 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 2 tablespoon your favorite white wine
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 pound spaghetti, broken, cooked & drained
  • 2 to 3 cups of cooked turkey or chicken
  • For the Topping:
  • 1 1/2 cup panko
  • 2 tablespoon melted butter
  • 1/3 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

  2. In frying pan, melt butter. Add sliced mushrooms & chopped onion. Saute until veggies are soft and liquid is gone.

  3. Stir in the flour.

  4. Gradually add the chicken broth, stirring as it thickens.

  5. Stir in the heavy cream, wine, salt, pepper & parmesan. Let it gently simmer for 1 minute then remove from heat.

  6. Place half the cooked & drained spaghetti in bottom of prepared casserole dish.

  7. Add half the meat. Add half the mushroom sauce.

  8. Repeat layers of spaghetti, turkey and sauce.

  9. In small bowl, combine bread crumbs and 1/3 c. parmesan. Stir in to incorporate.

  10. Add melted butter & stir to coat panko & parmesan.

  11. Bake at 350 degrees F for 15 minutes, or until topping turns golden brown.
