Old School Meat Puff

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cup flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 egg yolks, beaten
- 1 cup milk
- 1 1/2 cup leftover meat, coarsely chopped
- 2 teaspoons onion, minced
- 1/4 cup carrot, grated
- 2 tablespoons shortening, melted
- 2 egg whites, stiffly beaten
Instructions

Preheat oven to 425 degrees F.

Pour all of your dry ingredients into a sifter and sift together.

Mix your egg yolks and milk together and then add them to the sifted ingredients. Stir well.

Add the onion, meat, carrot, and shortening; mix well.

Fold in the egg whites. Now pour the entire mixture into a well-greased 1-quart baking dish.

Bake for 45 minutes. Serve with gravy.
