Ingredients

  • 10 ounces frozen french style green beans
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 3/4 cup skim milk
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 cup dairy sour cream
  • 2 cups ham, cooked and diced
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • 1 pinch paprika
  • vegetable spray

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
     
  2. Thaw green beans, drain well.
     
  3. Melt butter, blend in flour, add milk and soy sauce. Cook over medium heat, stirring, until thickened.
     
  4. Add sour cream and ham. Pour into sprayed baking dish. Sprinkle top with bread crumbs. Dash generously with paprika.
     
  5. Bake for 30 minutes.

What's the difference between french style green beans and the regular pre-cut frozen green beans you get at the supermarket?

French style are beans cut in thin long strips instead of the short thick pre-cut.

When do you add the thawed green beans?

I would assume they would be first into the casserole, if things are added in order.
