- 1 pound box elbow macaroni, cooked according to package directions
- 1 stick margarine or butter
- 1 package shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- salt, to taste
- pepper, to taste
- 1 egg
- 2 cup milk
- 1 package Ritz crackers

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.

In a 2-quart casserole dish, layer cooked macaroni with thin slices of butter and sprinkles of cheese, adding salt and pepper to each layer. You should be able to do about 3-4 layers.

After the top layer of butter and cheese, beat egg in a 2-cup measuring cup, then add milk to make 2 cups. Beat together and pour over macaroni casserole.

Crumble Ritz crackers or sprinkle breadcrumbs over the top of the casserols.
