Chicken Wiggle
If you've never heard of Chicken Wiggle, it's probably because this is an age-old recipe that has been forgotten by many ... but that doesn't mean it's not delicious! It's an old-fashioned recipe for chicken with vegetables and noodles in a delicious broth. One taste of this delicious dish and you'll be reminded of the kind of good old-fashioned comfort food you grew up on. It's especially great for when you're in the mood for something comforting.
Ingredients
- 2 to 4 pound whole chicken
- 1/2 cup margarine or butter
- 2 medium onions, chopped
- 2 medium green peppers, chopped
- 1 small can sliced mushrooms
- 1 small can pimentos
- 1/2 small bottle Worcestershire Sauce
- 1 tablespoon Tabasco Sauce
- 1 pound egg noodles
- 1 small can peas
Instructions
- Cook chicken in boiling water in a large saucepan until no longer pink. Reserve the broth. When chicken is cooked, debone and cut into small pieces.
- Saute the chopped onions, peppers, mushrooms and pimentos in a skillet with the margarine or butter until tender. Add Tabasco sauce and Worcestershire sauce to the sauteed vegetables and stir.
- Cook noodles in the broth for 10 minutes, salt and pepper to taste. Add cut up chicken and sauteed vegetables to the noodles and broth. Bring to a boil before serving.
