Ginger Fried Chicken

This fried chicken recipe is a combination of fried and baked, and is infused with Asian flavors such as soy sauce and ginger. East meets the deep south in this tasty rendition of a fried chicken recipe.

Ingredients

  • 2 pound whole chicken, cut into pieces
  • 1/4 pound fresh ginger root, grated
  • 2 ounce chopped garlic
  • 4 ounce Japanese soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 8 ounce flour
  • 4 medium eggs

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ginger, garlic, soy sauce, salt, and pepper.  
     
  2. Add chicken and toss well to coat; marinate overnight.
     
  3. Preheat oven tp 350F degrees.
     
  4. Beat the eggs in a small bowl, then pour over chicken and toss well.
     
  5. Add flour and coat chicken.
     
  6. Fry until golden, about 5 minutes.
     
  7. Finish in oven, 350F degrees, for 30-35 minutes.
