One Pot Chicken with a Kick
Here's a one pot meal recipe that's sure to wake up your taste buds. This one pot chicken with a kick uses chili powder and cinnamon to create a spicy dish you're sure to love. Serve over white rice.
Ingredients
- 2 pounds chicken parts
- 2 tablespoons shortening
- 1 can tomato soup
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 cup onion, sliced
- 1 clove of garlic, minced
- 2 teaspoons chili powder
- 1/8 teaspoon cinnamon
- crushed red pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup sliced pimiento-stuffed olives
- 1 green bell pepper, cut into thin strips
- cooked rice
Instructions
- In skillet, brown chicken in shortening. Pour off fat.
- Add tomato soup, water, onion, garlic, chili powder, cinnamon, and crushed red pepper flakes. Cover and cook over low heat for 35 minutes.
- Add olives and green pepper. Cook 10 minutes more or until chicken is done. Stir occasionally. Serve over rice.
