Chili and Chips
Chili is great all year round. Chili and Chips is my take on the classic basic chili recipe, but with one addition, corn chips! You would be surprised how much more a simple crunch can bring to a chili. Give it a shot.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 tablespoon dried onions
- 1 1/2 tablespoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt
- salt & pepper, to taste
- 2 can (15-ounces) diced tomatoes (with chilis if you like)
- 2 can (15-ounces) red kidney beans
- 2 can (8-ounces) tomato sauce
- 2 can corn, drained
- corn chips, to taste
- 2 cup Cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1 fresh tomato, diced
- 1 green pepper, diced
- sour cream, to taste
- black olives, sliced
Instructions
- Brown ground beef with salt & pepper, dried onions, half the chili powder, and minced garlic. Drain & rinse.
- Add remaining canned tomatoes, tomato sauce, chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, seasoned salt, kidney beans, & corn. Simmer.
- To serve, place a handful of chips in a bowl, top with chili, cheese, tomato, green pepper, sour cream, and black olives.
