Earthquake Cake Mix Cake
Cake mix recipes are perfect when you are looking for a quick and easy dessert that the family will love. Earthquake Cake Mix Cake is made with chocolate cake mix, coconut, and pecans. It's a slice of Heaven made in minutes.
Ingredients
- 1 cup coconut
- 1 cup pecans
- 1 box german chocolate cake mix
- 1 pound powdered sugar plus 1 or 2 cups
- 8 ounces cream cheese
- 1 stick butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Instructions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Place coconut and pecans in greased pan (11x14). Mix cake mix according to package directions and spread on top of the coconut and pecans. (Use shredded coconut and chopped pecans, but not too finely chopped.)

Mix butter, cream cheese, and powdered sugar together; spoon on top of the cake mix.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes, and cool before serving.

do you put the cream cheese and powder mix on cake then bake or after its bake?

The cream cheese and powder sugar mixture is baked with the cake mix. When it cooks, it sinks into the cake, making crevices and cracks, hence the name "Earthquake". It's a delicious, but rich cake!
