Sheer Perfidy
Ingredients
- 8 (1.5 oz.) chocolate bars
- 1 large can chocolate syrup
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 sticks butter, softened
- 5 medium eggs (or 4 large)
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 1/4 teaspoon soda
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup chopped nuts
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 3 T. strong coffee
Instructions
Melt candy in double boiler. In separate bowl, cream butter and sugar. Add eggs one at a time and mix well. Sift flour and soda together. Add, alternating with buttermilk, syrup and candy. Beat well. Add nuts, vanilla and coffee. Bake in greased tube pan 1 1/2 hours at 350.
