Sheer Perfidy

Ingredients

  • 8 (1.5 oz.) chocolate bars
  • 1 large can chocolate syrup
  • 2 cup sugar
  • 2 sticks butter, softened
  • 5 medium eggs (or 4 large)
  • 2 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon soda
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup chopped nuts
  • 2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3 T. strong coffee

Instructions

Melt candy in double boiler. In separate bowl, cream butter and sugar. Add eggs one at a time and mix well. Sift flour and soda together. Add, alternating with buttermilk, syrup and candy. Beat well. Add nuts, vanilla and coffee. Bake in greased tube pan 1 1/2 hours at 350.
