Ingredients
- 2 sticks (1 cup) margarine or butter
- 8 ounce cream cheese
- 2 cup flour
- 1 cup chopped walnuts
- 1 cup sugar
- 3 tablespoon milk
Instructions
- Mix softened butter and cream cheese together until smooth.
- Gradually add flour until the mixture reaches a doughy consistency.
- Wrap dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate at least 2 hours.
- For filling, combine walnuts, sugar and milk. Stir until consistency is even.
- When dough has been refrigerated 2 hours, preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
- Roll out cold dough and slice into squares.
- Spread filling across squares of dough and roll lengthwise to create a cigar shape, or roll diagonally for a crescent shape.
- Gently roll each piece in granulated sugar until lightly coated, then transfer to a cookie sheet.
- Curve ends inward for crescent shape if desired.
- Bake 8-12 minutes or until lightly browned.
