Banana Jumbos
Bananas and chocolate make a great combo. You can't go wrong with cookies that take these flavors and turn them into a delicious dessert. Banana Jumbos are the perfect fruity cookie for Christmas or any time.
Notes
If desired frost with a thin confectioners sugar icing - Thin Icing 1 cup confectioners sugar 1 to 2 tablespoons milk, water or cream 1/2 teaspoon vanilla.
Ingredients
- 1 cup shortening (part butter or margarine)
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1 vanilla
- 3 cup flour
- 1/2 tablespoon baking soda
- 1/2 salt
- 1 cup nuts or chocolate chips, chopped
Instructions
- Mix shortening, sugar, and eggs thoroughly. Stir in bananas, butter, milk and vanilla.
- Measure flour by dipping method, or by sifting. Stir flour, soda and salt together.
- Add wet to dry ingredients, stir in chips. Chill one hour.
- Heat oven to 375 degrees F.
- Drop rounded Tablespoonfuls of dough two inches apart on lightly greased baking sheet.
- Bake about 10 minutes or until delicately browned.
