Sesame Crisp Crackers
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
- 1/4 cup soy flour
- 1/4 cup sesame seeds, ground
- 3/4 tsp salt
- 1/3 cup oil
- 1/2 cup water (as needed)
Instructions
3 - 4 dozen crackers. Stir together flours, ground sesame seeds and salt. Blend in oil. Then add water. Add enough water to the dough to make it soft enough to roll out very easily into a thin sheet. Gather the dough into a ball, then roll it to 1/8 inch thick. Cut it in cracker shapes or sticks and place on an unoiled baking sheet. Bake at 350 F until the crackers are crisp and golden. These crackers go well with soups as well as sweets. Be sure to serve them with your favorite dips, spreads, and cheeses. Notes: I never grind the sesame seeds because I like them whole. For flavor, I prefer peanut oil, but canola or olive have been shown to be healthier.
