Frugal Pot Roast
Just because you're pinching pennies doesn't mean you have to sacrifice flavor! This Frugal Pot Roast is an inexpensive slow cooker pot roast recipe that still tastes like you used fine ingredients.

Ingredients
- 4 pounds boneless pot roast
- 8 carrots
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- 1/2 cup dry white wine
- 1 package dry onion soup mix
- salt to taste
- 1 teaspoon thyme
- black pepper to taste
- 8 small potatoes, peeled
Instructions
- Place roast in slow cooker. Add carrots, soup, wine, soup mix, salt, thyme, pepper, and potatoes. Cover and cook on low for 7 to 8 hours.

before placing roast in crock pot, sear on all sides in preferably cast iron pan. Do not add extra salt. There is already excessive salt in the soups. Add more seasonings such as fresh onions, garlic and parsley. Read your ingredients nutritional information before adding more salt - it will kill you in the long run
