Ingredients
- 3-4 lb chicken pieces
- salt and fresh white pepper
- 6 Tbs olive oil
- 1/8 tsp red pepper flakes
- 1 onion, diced
- 3 stalks celery, sliced
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1 cup walnuts, finely ground
- 1 cup soft breadcrumbs
Instructions
In a frypan, brown chicken in the oil until golden brown, then place in slow cooker. Add onion, celery, chicken broth and spices. Set cooker to LOW and cook 4-6 hrs or until chicken is tender. Remove 3 cups of broth from the cooker and mix with the walnuts and breadcrumbs. Pour this mixture over the chicken. Turn cooker to HIGH, and cook stirring, until sauce has thickened. NOTE: I found it was better to put the sauce into a saucepan and boil to reduce the liquid to thicken it.
