Classic Slow Cooked Beef Stew

Sometimes there's just nothing better than a big bowl of classic slow cooked beef stew. With this slow cooker beef stew recipe, you can have all the comfort without all the work. This recipe makes a lot of stew, so it's great for family gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 4 pound beef chuck or stew meat, cut into cubes
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 cup beef broth
  • 2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 5 carrots, sliced
  • 5 potatoes, diced
  • 3 onions, chopped
  • 3 stalks celery, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon browning and seasoning sauce

Instructions

  1. Place the meat in the slow cooker.  In a bowl, mix the flour, salt and pepper.  Pour flour mixture over the meat.  Stir the meat to thoroughly coat it with the flour.
     
  2. Add beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, bay leaves, paprika, carrots, potatoes, onions, celery, and browning sauce.  Stir well and cover.  Cook on low for 10 to 12 hours.
