    Homemade Cheese Whiz

    Ingredients

    • 1 1/2 pound American processed cheese
    • 13 ounces evaporated milk
    • 1 tablespoon butter
    • 2 egg yolks, beaten
    • 1 tablespoon flour

    Instructions

    In a double boiler, melt butter and add cheese. When softened, add egg yolks, milk and flour. Cook, stirring until thick. Store in a covered jar in the refrigerator.

    This is such a different alternative to buying cheese whiz. I can hardly afford to buy that. It has gotten so expensive over the years. I will have to try this recipe! It sounds really easy. Does anyone know how long this might last in the fridge? I might have to make half of this amount. It sounds like it would be a lot.
