Chocolate Banana Trifle
Ingredients
- 1 package Chocolate Butter Recipe Cake mix
- 3 eggs
- 1 stick butter
- 1 package instant vanilla or banana pudding mix
- 2 cups milk
- 6-8 medium bananas
- 1 large tub Cool Whip
Instructions
Mix cake ingredients together following cake mix directions. Bake in 2 round pans for 30 minutes. Remove from oven and cool on racks. Mix pudding following directions and set aside in bowl. Peel bananas and slice 1/4 inch circles into a bowl. Slice cool cake lengthwise through the center. Now there are 4 skinny cakes. Place one cake into a large bowl or trifle dish. Spread with 1/3 of the pudding. Add a layer of banana slices to the pudding. Add 1/4 the cool whip to the banana layer. Add another cake layer, pudding, banana and cool whip layer. Add another cake layer, pudding banana and cool whip layer. Set the final cake layer on top. Add the final layer of cool whip. Grated chocolate or jimmies look nice on top. This is a light, moist cake trifle that is just delicious!! It has been my families' favorite for years. The most requested birthday cake and most requested cake by other friends and family. If any is leftover, it becomes more moist and delicious the second day. We usually don't make it that far.
