    Easy Apple Crisp with Cake Mix

    Ah, the beauty of simple dessert recipes. This Easy Apple Crisp with Cake Mix is so easy to whip together at the last minute, it will quickly become your favorite go-to dessert, no matter what the occasion! With just six ingredients, this easy apple crisp recipe is hard to beat.

    Ingredients

    • 6 Granny Smith apples (or any kind of baking apples)
    • 1/2 cup butter
    • 1/2 box yellow cake mix
    • 1/4 cup sugar
    • cinnamon, to taste
    • nuts (optional)

    Instructions

    1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
       
    2. Peel and slice apples and place into square baking dish.
       
    3. Melt butter.
       
    4. Take cake mix and sprinkle over top the apples.
       
    5. Mix together sugar and cinnamon and put over the top of the cake mix.
       
    6. Pour melted butter over top.
       
    7. Add nuts, if desired.
       
    8. Bake for approximately 30 minutes.

    Am I correct in thinking that you mean a full box of ONE layer cake mix, such as "Jiffy"?

    I make a similar recipe except it uses 2 cans of apple pie filling. So much easier than peeling and slicing apples. And it is delicious.
