Fresh Pear Crumble

Fresh Pear Crumble is a great dessert for summer or any time of the year! It is simple and a deliciously light ending to your meal. Serve hot with ice cream or top with whipped cream.

Ingredients

  • 3 sliced firm pears
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • Grated rind of 1/2 lemon
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup soft bread crumbs
  • 1/2 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup melted butter or margarine
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts
  • Whipped cream or heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Combine first 4 ingredients (pear, lemon juice, lemon rind and sugar) in preheated electric skillet or baking pan of table oven.
     
  2. Mix the next 5 ingredients and sprinkle over top of pears.
     
  3. Cook at moderate temperature, about 350 degrees F,  for about 40 minutes. Serve with cream.
